If you’re regular reader of Liveagl you would know that I am fascinated with movies (and if you didn’t know..now you do.) and based on all the promotional material that has been flying around recently, it seems that this year is going to be a good year for movies. To help with the influx of so many movie trailers and news bits, I have created a nice compacted Top 10 list of the movies you need to see in 2010. Take a gander, and let me know if you agree or disagree (this list is in no certain order).
Inception
This movie seems to be on alot of people’s minds because of how secretive it is. The director of the movie is the famed Christopher Nolan who has managed to keep plot details completely under raps, which is really surprising. The only thing we have is a short premise; A contemporary science fiction action thriller set within the architecture of the mind. The movie stars DiCaprio, Ellen Page, and Ken Wattabbe (big fan), a strong cast that I’m excited to see. Though the movie is completely secret, we have a trailer but it doesn’t give much away (still a great trailer).

Iron Man 2
We all know the 411 on this movie; it looks amazing. But, the more clips and trailers I see the more I know it needs to be watched, a necessity for 2010. I think the biggest feature for me (and for many) is the introduction of War Machine and the duo the two will create when they team up.

Kick-Ass
This movie slowly gained hype through its run of small scale promotion. If you’re not familiar, the premise is about; a high school student who decides to become a super-hero which spawns a host of others to follow suit, including an interesting father (Big Daddy) and daughter (Hit Girl). What got me on the bandwagon was mainly clips of Hit-Girl in action, watch the trailer to see how bad ass this little girl is.

Clash Of Titans
I’m huge fan of greek mythology and antiquity, so it’s only natural that I’m excited about this new remake. The original film was an adaption of the myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster to save the Princess Andromeda. The new movie seems to have deviated from the original plot but still contains Gods, monsters, and a whole lot of sword play.

Green Zone
Unfortunately there won’t be any more Bourne sequels (tear), but Green Zone seems to be the next best thing. It’s brought to you by the same duo that delivered the Bourne franchise; Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass. The movie is really low key so you might not of heard it, but it’s about a U.S. Army officer (Damon) who discovers covert and faulty intelligence which causes him to go rogue as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable region. (Rogue?..hmm Bourne Anyone).

Book Of Eli
The Book Of Eli is the excuse for Denzel’s heavy absence from film. The movie is an adaption of the best –selling novel that centers around post-apolocatype era where a lone man must protect a sacred book that will save mankind. Frankly I think Denzel is too old for this role, but I’m still interested to see how it turns out..

Robin Hood
Russell Crowe is back at his signature role, kicking ass in ancient periods. This time around its in middle-age England as Robin Hood, the prince of thieves. The movie is being directed by Ridley Scott and it has the same vibe as gladiator, which isn’t all that bad. Since the story of Robin Hood has been told so many times, this movie focuses on his origins.

Sex In The City
Say what you will about this chick flick, but I’m a fan. I’m really interested to see where the ladies have gone, though I think it will be difficult to create a new story from the clear ending of the first film. Supposedly though, there could be more storms in the happy relationships. I want to see the movie because I like the wittiness of the characters, and the bluntness of the story.

Alice In The Wonderland
You cannot turn down a Tim Burton movie, especially an IMAX 3D Tim Burton movie (think Avatar but with Burton’s crazy mind). The new movie is a retelling of the classic story that is starring Johnny Depp (who else) as the Mad Hatter. From the Trailer, it looks like Burton took it to the next step (possibly during an Acid Trip) but the movie looks very imaginative so far.

TRON Legacy
Not many know about the original TRON movie (1987), but the folks that do, claim it to be a classic. The first movie was about a programmer who was transferred into a computer world by an evil program, the sequel (this movie) seems to be the continuation of this computer world with an emphasis on the original character’s son. The major attraction for me is the effects in this movie (just watch the trailer)
