Its unfortunate that lost in the midst of Toyota’s woes last week was the official pricing announcement on the automaker’s first exotic car, the LFA from its premium brand Lexus. Right after Toyota axed production of its Supra coupe in 2002 (1998 in the US), car enthusiasts have been clamoring for its substitute – a performance-oriented coup. With the creation of the LFA, that void in Toyota and Lexus product line is finally filled.
Scheduled for model year 2012, the Lexus LFA is the fastest production car Lexus ever made. Propelled by a 4.8-liter V10 engine, specifically designed for the supercar, the LFA is able to generate a 552 horsepower with 354 lb.-ft torque. With ease, the LFA will reach 60 mph from standstill in 3.6 seconds. Apply some more pressure on the accelerator and the car will hit its maximum speed of 202 mph in no time.
Potential buyers have 3 different configurations to select from:
- Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats.
- Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System and Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system.
- Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System, Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system, and Lexus Enform with Safety Connect.
In addition, there will be an option of 30 exterior colors, 12 interior colors and 6 brake caliper colors for customization.
Finally, the total price tag for this custom build exotic is $375,000. Only 500 units will be made
